From Pages to the Big Screen: Perks: A Coming-of-Age Story

**Although this movie was released over a year ago,
it is still definitely a awesome movie to see and has to be one
of my favorite books to become a movie.

First published in the year 1999, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a tale that follows Charlie (Logan Lerman), a misunderstood 15-year-old, through his first year of high school.This coming-of-age story describes "the uncharted territory of high school. The world of first dates, family dramas, and new friends. of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Of those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up." [quote from summary on back] All while coping with his first love, Sam (Emma Watson), the suicide of his best friend, and his own mental illness. The freshman is taken under the wings of two seniors, Sam and Patrick (Ezra Miller), who welcome him to the real world.
